Petroleum Trading
Our petroleum trading portfolio includes refined fuels, crude oil and petroleum-derived materials for industrial, transport and infrastructure applications.
EN590 / D2 Gasoil
D2 is a refinery abbreviation for gasoil and is described as the second distillate from crude oil. It is used as a diesel fuel. The company profile references international standards including ISO, ANSI, ASTM, API, EPA, DIN and GOST.
Diesel & GasoilJet Fuel / Kerosene
Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) is designed for aircraft powered by gas-turbine engines. The profile identifies Jet A and Jet A-1 as commonly used commercial aviation fuels, and Jet B for enhanced cold-weather performance.
Aviation FuelCrude Oil
A naturally occurring, unrefined petroleum product composed of hydrocarbon deposits and other organic materials. It can be refined into usable products such as gasoline, diesel and petrochemicals.
Raw PetroleumPetrol / Gasoline
Gasoline or petrol is a petroleum-derived fuel used in combustion engines. It is obtained through crude oil processing and is widely used in transportation.
Motor FuelBase Oil
Base oils are used to manufacture lubricating greases, motor oils and metal-processing fluids. They include mineral base oils produced through crude oil refining and synthetic base oils produced through chemical methods.
Lubricant FeedstockBitumen
Bitumen or asphalt is a sticky, black and highly viscous petroleum material. Its primary use is in road construction as a binder mixed with aggregate. It is also used in waterproofing and roofing products.
Road & WaterproofingPolyolefins, Styrenics & Engineering Polymers
Polyolefins are a major group of thermoplastics. The profile highlights polypropylene and polyethylene alongside styrenic materials, engineering polymers, elastomers and additives used across a wide variety of applications.
Low Density Polyethylene
LDPE resins are used in a wide range of high-performance and general-purpose applications, with grades suited to different processing techniques.
Linear Low Density Polyethylene
Different LLDPE grades include Butene C4, Hexene C6 and Octene C8. Applications include film extrusion, blow moulding, rotomoulding and injection moulding for food packaging, frozen food, heating pipes, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
Metallocene Polyethylene
High-performance, new-generation polyethylene used in film applications such as packaging, agriculture, construction, building and industrial applications.
Ultra & Very Low Density PE
ULDPE and VLDPE are low-density polyethylene materials with densities below 0.880 g/cm³. ULDPE grades are mainly used as impact modifiers for other polyolefins.
Medium Density Polyethylene
MDPE is part of the polyethylene family, with a density range stated in the profile as 0.926–0.940 g/cm³, lower than common HDPE.
High Density Polyethylene
HDPE grades are used in injection moulding, blow moulding, blown film and pipe applications. The profile highlights strength, rigidity, crack resistance and impact resistance.
Polypropylene Homopolymer
PPH offers a high strength-to-weight ratio, rigidity, chemical resistance and weldability. It is used in corrosion-resistant structures and industrial applications.
Polypropylene Copolymer
PPC is softer than homopolymer, with improved impact resistance and stress-cracking resistance at lower temperatures. It is used where toughness is important.
Random Copolymer
Random copolymer grades have comonomer units arranged in irregular patterns. They are selected where malleability and transparency are desired.
Ethylene Vinyl Acetate
EVA is an elastomeric material used where rubber-like softness and flexibility are required. Vinyl acetate content affects elasticity, transparency and gloss.
Polyolefin Elastomers & Plastomers
These materials contain propylene and ethylene units in their molecular structure. Ethylene content influences elasticity and allows blending with PE and PP materials.
Polypropylene Compounds
Thermoplastic resins made by combining base polyolefins with modifiers, fillers, reinforcements, pigments and additives to create properties for varied applications.
General Purpose Polystyrene
Transparent polystyrene with good strength and weatherability. It flows easily during moulding and is used for toys, CD/DVD cases and plastic cups.
High Impact Polystyrene
A blend of clear polystyrene and rubber that produces an opaque, white, impact-resistant and economical polymer. It is used for prototypes and semi-finished products.
ABS, MABS & SAN
ABS offers strength and impact properties for automotive parts, toys, housings and consumer goods. MABS combines transparency with mechanical properties. SAN offers higher thermal resistance than polystyrene.
Polymer Blends
Mixtures of two or more polymers combined to create materials with different physical properties. Their performance depends on the selection and proportion of component polymers.
Polyamides
PA 6 provides a balance of strength, stiffness and chemical resistance. PA 6.6 offers mechanical, heat and chemical resistance and can be considered for metal replacement.
Polyamide Compounds
Polyamides can be modified with fillers, fibres, internal lubricants and impact modifiers to adjust mechanical properties, heat resistance and processability.
Polycarbonate
A transparent thermoplastic with excellent impact resistance and high-performance characteristics for applications requiring temperature capability and safety features.
Polyacetal
POM C is a strong, rigid engineering plastic with low friction and dimensional stability. POM H offers higher mechanical strength, rigidity, hardness and creep resistance.
Polyphenylene Sulphide
PPS offers high-temperature and chemical resistance, dimensional stability and inherent flame retardancy. It is used in electrical applications requiring temperature resistance.
Elastomers
Rubbery materials capable of returning to their original shape after significant stretching. Their molecular chains extend under force and return to their normal arrangement when released.
Polymer Additives
Substances added to polymers to improve or modify their properties for intended applications. The type and quantity depend on the performance required.
One-Stop Integrated Chemical Solutions
Gemstone's product profile lists chemicals for marine, oilfield, water treatment, cleaning, food and dairy, and laboratory applications, alongside a broad product line for homecare and industrial cleaning.
